Over the past few weeks it has been hitting especially high temperatures where I live. And I have been feeling it. Tired, nauseous, sweating…all the wonderful outcomes of the summer heat. But even more reason why I must stay hydrated. When I am properly hydrated I have more energy, am less likely to snack, and overall feel better. My body is very sensitive to certain foods, so I pay a price when I allow my self to indulge in things that are not great for my body. Being hydrated does the opposite. It clears me out, nourishes, and refuels my body to accomplish the many tasks the day holds before me…
Getting going in the morning
Getting through an exercise class at the gym
Watering the plants in the blistering heat
Cleaning the house
Working on a crafty project
Running errands in my car with no A/C
Chasing after children at school as a substitute teacher
Meeting up with a friend
Making dinner
During this four week series (and the high California heat!), I have been more motivated and more aware of how much water I am drinking daily.
1 cup in my morning protein shake
32 oz in my water bottle at the gym
Another 32 oz water bottle through out the day
A glass of Crystal Light when I know I am not getting enough water but need a little kick
A glass of water by my bed at night
I feel better, I look better, and I know I am doing what is best for my body. I still have a lot of life ahead of me, but as I have gotten older I see how much more important it is to take the proper steps to treat my body well so it can help me live the life I aspire to.
1 cup Crystal Light (or one pouch of on the go packets with water)
1/2 cup of frozen fruit
Couple pieces of ice
Blend in blender until desired consistency. Add more or less Crystal Light or fruit for thickness. Pour in a tall glass and enjoy this delicious low calorie summer treat!
How does staying hydrated have a positive effect on your life?

Staying hydrated helps you stay fuller longer, so there's less chances of overeating.

To be hydrated it makes the body healthier. I don't ever get sick and I have more energy.
I feel better when I am hydrated. If I don't stay hydrated I get a headache.

I definitely feel better when I make an effort to stay hydrated. Mochas and/or Coke doesn't count!!! I've been making a better effort with my water lately. I feel much better when I drink a good amount of water. :)
This is something that I still fail misserably at. I must do better for my body so I can take care of those who I love.
I think staying hydrated keeps the summer heat grumpies at bay so I'm able to enjoy spending time with my kiddos more. It also curbs my appetite so I don't overindulge in the snacks.
Other than just feeling better, I feel that my skin and hair looks and feels better when I am properly hydrated. As well as I have more energy and don't feel nearly as sluggish.
Man, you are super woman! Lol! That Crystal Light smoothie looks fantastic...so refreshing!! I am trying it. I typically stay hydrated by carrying a bottle of water with me all day wherever I go. :))
I have energy when I'm hydrated! As soon as I feel a slump I know it's time for a drink! And I always drink more when it's fruit punch crystal light!
I feel so much better when I am Hydrated.
Staying hydrated allowed me to finish the San Francisco Half Marathon this past Sunday in 2 hours and 30 minutes. 13.1 miles of running is NOT possible without major hydration! YAYAYAYAY!!
Drinking lots of water helps me stay cool in 100+ heat--and that makes me feel a lot more positive about my day!
Staying hydrated helps me to cope with the heat better and keeps me from getting headaches. LPoser1 [at] gmail [dot] com
Staying hydrated keeps me healthy and pretty. It's the must for body and skin!
Staying hydrated helps to keep me full, so I'm less likely to snack on (not so healthy) things throughout the day. Instead, when I think I'm hungry I grab a bottle of water instead. If a half hour later, I am still feeling hungry, then I'll grab a snack. But more often than not the water fills me up!
NOt only does it keep me energized and feeling better...but it is good for my kidneys. I had one removed when I was 16...and proper hydration is necessary!
It keeps me more alert, and I'm able to stay on top of things.

I get headaches when I am not hydrated can be very dangerous in Florida!
staying hydrated just makes me feel better. i have more energy, am less hungry and feel better about my appearance (not sure if it's actually better or just a perception but either way it works!) =)
It helps my face from being dry and gives me more energy.
I am an Esthetician and I always preach to my clients that ... The face is the last place water reaches on the body. The more you drink the more you will see the results on your face! Clear skin, hydration, healthy glow, less fine lines and wrinkles and diminishing dark circles under the eye area! The skin needs your body to drink even more, then you think you need to! Keep it flowing for best results!
I have a problem with swelling
when it gets hot. If I stay hydrated, it really offsets
this issue for me. And, it is a lot easier to stay hydrated if I am sipping something tasty!
Without my trusty water bottle with me,I would be fainting in this heat wave!
I am dieting and keeping a glass of something to drink in my hand keeps me from snacking.
Staying hydrated has really helped me with the edema in my feet! I also find it very refreshing with this heat wave we've been having.
It is so important to stay hydrated, all of our body functions depend on fluids. I know I feel better when I stay hydrated, get my rest and eat right.
Thank you!
It's generally hot here in Hawaii year round so if you don't stay hydrated your energy is zapped. Drinky plenty of fluids helps keep my energy level up and running!
