The Life Of A Bridesmaid :: Slim-Fast Gift Pack Giveaway

This is a sponsored review from BlogHer and Slim·Fast.

This May my sister in law is getting married.  All the wedding happenings take me back to just a year in a half ago when I got married.  Picking dresses.  Making invitations.  Engagement photo sessions.  Narrowing down a guest list.  Bridal showers.

And now the roles are reversed.

Urke-539

I like to think the wedding is all thanks to me…I mean she did catch my bouquet…

Urke-540

But there is also this thing called love that might have something to do with it…

IMG_2829the bride to be and her soon to be mister

Like any good bridesmaid I am doing my best to make sure I will fit in my bridesmaid dress {wink} and helping with things like late night gluing of wedding invites.

CIMG9218

Showers are being planned, pedicure appointments are being made, and gifts are being bought…nothing like being in a wedding to remind myself to get my hair cut, wax my eyebrows, buy some new mascara, work on a tan, and religiously get to the gym.

CIMG8061

My husband and I are looking forward to being part of this special day.  I know it is a big deal for my husband to see his “little” sister officially grow up.  And we are thrilled to add a new member to our family.

As everyone involved prepares for the big day…we cannot help but be blessed to be a part of such a special celebration…of love being united as one.

Any big celebrations coming up in your life?  How do you prepare for special days?

{pouty lip} I have no celebrations coming up this year. But, in the past I have worked out and shopped for new outfits for the event and made sure all my camera equipment was prepared, charged, etc!!!

You all look like such a fun family. :) It's been a while since we've had a wedding...I guess a year and a half or so? I wish I had been more religious about getting to the gym/eating right to look good in the photos, but I didn't. I ought to get to that before the next engagement comes along!! ;)

nina@themissadventuresofnina said...

my getting ready is all base on fashion and make up: get the dress, the shoes, the purse, new make up, dye the hair...I wish I could say I was hitting the gym hard though :) specially since we are having the kid 2nd birthday in NYC!

I have two big celebrations coming up - my husband's 40th birthday party and my brother's wedding (for which I'll be a bridesmaid.) So... I should really start saying "no" to beer and getting moving more often! (karianna-at-karianna-dot-us)

I love all the pictures! My oldest will be 6 in a couple days...does that count? It's big to me! I feel OLD!! ;)

I prepare for big celebrations by first making a list of everything I need to do and in what order. I try to set up a hair appointment for the event. If I have time, I may try to lose a few pounds by cutting back on junk food and by exercising. I also make sure I have my clothes picked out and ready to go. LPoser1 [at] gmail [dot] com

Anonymous said...

I walk/jog on the treadmill for 45 minutes 5x a week, and also do Tracy Anderson exercises a few times a week. And I eat salad for breakfast to get my veggies in.

I'm preparing right now for my son's wedding with the reception to be held at my house!!! So I'm up to my eyeballs in prep!!! Luckily his bride to be is uber organized, so there's not much for me to do. I'm planning the rehersal dinner for 65 ppl, making my lists and checking them twice!!! Organization is the key to a successful event of any type.

No big events coming anytime soon, a reunion late this summer, I intend to use the time I have to work my rear off, literally. It's been a long winter, I need to get back on track

I'm not trying to slim down for a specific event, but rather I'm trying to improve my overall health and wellness. Although, since swimsuit season is rapidly approaching, it would be nice to be rockin' a slimmer body at the beach :)

I’m doing it the old-fashioned way, watching my calories, portion control and moderate exercise. I'm more focused on long-term weight loss than short-term at the moment. I want to lose 100# by the end of the year. I'm already down 45, so I need to kick it into high gear! :)

Thanks for hosting the giveaway! :)
